This month is really, really special for Instagram users, and especially for those who love Instagram Story views. Some of the biggest updates we've ever received are coming. We got the announcement of two really big new options, which are a huge thing for the platform. Those are:
1.       Scheduling Instagram posts

2.       Carousel ads coming to Story
Scheduling posts (pre-scheduled posting) can completely change the way we interact with the Instagram platform, and Carousel ads (multi-tab ads) give Story ads access to one of the most effective ad options that Facebook and Instagram has ever had. There are a lot of great things this month, so let's clarify!
Scheduling Instagram Posts

This is simply the most important announcement we haven’t had on Instagram in a very long time, and as someone who does a lot of marketing content for Instagram, for many clients, I was bouncing in my chair when I read it! Instagram has released a new API that lets you schedule posts on the platform. Business profiles will be able to schedule posts via the API, or - even better - schedule posts through software such as Hootsuite or Latergram.

Why is this such a big deal?

Until recently, you could only use programs to pre-prepare your posts and put a reminder on your calendar. However, these tools cannot be posted directly to Instagram. Instead, the mobile app would send you a notification and you would enter the app and manually enter the post on Instagram and then publish it. That would save a few steps, but it was still a slow and painful process. Now, these apps will be able to directly upload posts to Instagram, which will make them even more useful and save us a lot of time. You will be able to prepare images and text in advance and give them the exact time when they will be published on your profile. We suggest you look at the previous text on the subject when it is best to post onInstagram.
Carousel ads brought to Story

Carousel ads are one of the most attractive ad formats. They have an undeniably higher response rate, clickthrough rate, and conversion rate. That’s why you see them often in Newsfeed; they are really effective. And now they are also available for Instagram Stories.

As of now, Story ads can have up to three different slides (cards), whether they are images or videos!
This benefit has not yet been made public and is only available to select major brands like Coca-Cola, but it will probably be available to us as we said biscuits. Keep these Story ads in mind and think about how to best use them in your advertising campaigns.
Instagram Story Alarm - Secret Testing?

This will affect the users more than it will affect the brands, but it is still worth mentioning. Instagram is reportedly currently testing an "Alerts" option that will let users know if someone else has taken a screenshot of their story. Sorry for the spy, their days are numbered. Instagram currently declined to comment on this finding when asked by Mashable, but it's just another option similar to the Snapchat option that Instagram may be trying to replicate. For the most part, be sure to avoid screen-slapping your ex-girlfriend's screen or someone you might not like to see. We also suggest you create a secure Instagram profile through which you can view other services, even if you take pictures you will not be offered. Classic Balkan ingenuity.
Instagram Story - Flexible Dimensions

Currently, you can only publish pictures and videos to Story if they are in 16: 9 dimensions (or full screen). That will change soon.
In the next few weeks, Instagram will develop new opportunities for creative flexibility in Storia.

You will be able to upload snapshots and images of all sizes on the Instagram story and even square-shaped images! All you have to do is pinch the image when you place it in your Story, to display it in its original dimensions. It will be interesting to see how many brands use this option and whether Story with the full-screen format will have the same level of interaction as non-full screen ones. We will be doing some A / B testing and will let you know the results!
